Christmas Day Timings

A guide to Christmas cooking timings. It’s based on lunch at 2pm so move it backwards or forwards depending on when you plan to eat.

8am -Turkey out of the fridge

8:45am – Pre-heat the oven to 220C/Gas 7 (see turkey timings on our recipe)

9am – Put turkey in oven – treat yourself to a glass of bucks fizz

11am – Set the table

12pm – Check the turkey – prep a dish for it to rest on

12:30 – Take the turkey out if ready, cover with foil and towels and leave on a warm plate to rest. Pour off the fat from the roasting tin and stir in a little flour and stock to make the gravy

12:35 – Put roast potatoes and stuffing in the oven

1:30pm – Check roast veg, warm the bread sauce and gravy

2pm – Dinner!
